When you see the WOD (workout of the day) posted on the board at BRICK you might be wondering what all the acronyms mean. If you're ever confused, you can ask a coach, or check out the list below.

  • Air Squat: squat without weights
  • AMRAP: As many rounds as possible
  • Back squat: squat with barbell on your back
  • C&J: clean and jerk
  • CLN: clean
  • CTB/C2B: Chest to bar
  • DB: Dumbbells
  • DL: Deadlift
  • DUs: Double unders (jump rope)
  • EMOM: Every minute on the minute
  • FS: Front squat
  • FT: For time
  • HSPU: Handstand push-up
  • HSQ: Hang squat
  • KB: Kettlebell
  • MET-CON: Metabolic Conditioning. High-intensity execution of an exercise for a given time
  • OHS: Overhead squat
  • PC: Power clean
  • PP: Push press
  • PU: Pull up or push up
  • RM: Repetition maximum. The most you can lift for a given number of repetitions
  • Rx: As prescribed. Every WOD has a standard. Performing each movement according to the standard is doing it Rx
  • SDHP: Sumo deadlift high pull
  • SN: Snatch
  • SP: Shoulder press
  • STOH" Shoulder to overhead
  • TGU: Turkish getup
  • TtB: Toes to bar
